US regulators approve new tuberculosis drug Jan 1st 2013, 00:47 WASHINGTON - US health regulators said Monday they had licensed a new treatment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis -- the first such federal approval aimed at tackling the deadly disease in 40 years. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it was approving the drug, named Sirturo, as an alternative treatment for adults suffering from TB when two more powerful medications that are available, isoniazid and rifampicin, do not work. But the regulator cautioned that the new drug should be used sparingly. The reports Sunday by the ITAR-Tass and Interfax news agency cited an unidentified official in the military general staff as saying the Novocherkassk, a large landing ship, has set sail from the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk. The ship is expected to arrive in the Tartus area in early January. The reports gave no information on the ship's intent. But Russian diplomats have said that Moscow is preparing a plan to evacuate thousands of Russians from Syria if necessary. While looking at videos on YouTube from around the world, of possible Bigfoot, Yeti or Yowie sightings I came across this interesting video posted by YouTube user, TheComradeRussia, back on Aug 3, 2011. One person commented that the event took place in the area of Murmansk Russia. It's hard to tell from what happening in the video and it's unclear whether it's a practical joke being played since I do not know Russian. It's possible that these three comrades had the scare of their life during this possible sighting of a Yeti or Wildman. The cameraman was focusing on the two other talking and it seems only when the figure peeked over the fence did they realize something was not right about it, but hey… I could be wrong since I do not understand what they are saying.
