The 8th Poti International Chess Festival will take place on 12th – 21st July 2013 at the Chess and Draughts complex sport school of Poti, Georgia.

The festival will see eight different tournaments being played. Open A for players with an Elo rating over 2000; Open B for players with a rating below 2000; and age categories tournaments for boys and girls U-12, U-10 and U-8.

The main event has 27 players registered with a rating average of 2242. It is a 9 rounds Swiss open with a time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

The winner will be awarded the Nana Aleksandria's cup. Money prizes will be distributed as follows: 1st – 4.000 GEL (approx. 2.400 USD); 2nd – 2.500 GEL; 3rd – 1.700 GEL, etc.

Georgian GM Levan Pantsulaia is the first seed.
