North Cotabato inmates seize jail officer Aug 19th 2013, 01:18 KIDAPAWAN CITY – Tension has gripped the North Cotabato District Jail in Barangay Amas here when prisoners took hostage an inmate welfare development (IWD) officer shortly before 6 a.m. Monday, a ranking prison official has confirmed. Jail Insp. Disodado Inso said Senior Jail Officer 3 Samuel Sunico was leading the inmates for yet another dance therapy session when he was suddenly seized and blindfolded on a chair. Inso said the inmates then made their demands known, including the relaxation of rules on their visiting kin and an increase in their daily subsistence allowance.
