NEW YORK — Alex Rodriguez has hit his 24th career grand slam, breaking a tie with Lou Gehrig for most in Major League Baseball history. The Yankees' Rodriguez connected off San Francisco Giants reliever George Kontos with two outs in the seventh inning Friday, sending a drive to right-center field that gave New York a 5-1 lead. It was Rodriguez's 14th slam with the Yankees, moving him one past Joe DiMaggio for second place on the team's all-time list. The homerun was the 654th of Rodriguez's career.
