'Odette' gets stronger as Signal No. 4 stays up over Batanes Sep 21st 2013, 02:27 MANILA, Philippines -- "Supertyphoon" Odette (international name Usagi) gained more strength Saturday as Signal No. 4 remained over the Batanes Group of Islands, the state weather bureau said. Odette's maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 250 kph are expected to accelerate within the day,the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in a public advisory. As of 8 a.m., the eye of "Odette" was seen 20 kilometers southwest of Basco, Batanes, it said. Signal No. 3 remains up over the Calayan Group of Islands and Babuyan Group of Islands, where winds of 101 kph up to 185 kph are expected in ...
