This week : Vijimambo and TES on Corporate Social Responsility: A case of Niger Uranium Mines Jan 23rd 2013, 20:13 As this week the hot topic was Corapate social resposibility of Gas resourcee distribution in Tanzania, I think we should look at experinces faced with other African countries such as Niger, for example Uranium -Yellow cake is product of uranium mining in Niger. This expensive product is 100% transported to France to generate electricity while  Niger's are left in the dark. As Areva 4,the investment company in Niger  plays a small role in developing some of the social services in Niger, however,  the impact of this services are hardly seen as towns still    inadequate infrastructure, water, electrically, tarmac roads good hospitals and schools as compared to the schools in developing industries.  As in the case of Tanzania, this is another example of Mtwara natural gas reserves to be used as the development of Dar es Salaam inner cities leaving the locals starving with adequate social economic development.
