PNP on heightened alert for Holy Week Mar 25th 2013, 02:30 MANILA, Philippines –The Philippine National Police (PNP)   has raised its alert level in parts of the country for the Holy Week, its spokesman said Monday. Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said PNP units in Luzon and Visayas, including the National Support Units, have geared up to heightened alert at 5 p.m. Sunday in line with PNP's security preparations for the Lenten season. In Mindanao, Cerbo said, police units, including the Special Action Force remained at full alert. Police Director Alex Paul Monteagudo, PNP's director for Operations, earlier said part of PNP's security preparation for the Lenten season was the establishment of Police Assistance Desk...
