MANILA, Philippines –The Philippine National Police (PNP) has raised its alert level in parts of the country for the Holy Week, its spokesman said Monday. Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said PNP units in Luzon and Visayas, including the National Support Units, have geared up to heightened alert at 5 p.m. Sunday in line with PNP's security preparations for the Lenten season.
