China will increase its official defence budget by 10.7 per cent this year, continuing a nearly unbroken run of double-digit hikes over the past two decades.
Spending is set to grow to Rmb720.168bn ($116bn) in 2013, according to the government's draft budget submitted to the National People's Congress, the country's rubber stamp parliament, on Tuesday morning.
