Prisoners Lose Right To have a Television in their Cell Apr 30th 2013, 03:18 Inmates will no longer automatically receive perks such as television sets and the freedom to wear their own clothes, Justice secretary Chris Grayling will announce. Violent and sexually explicit 18-rated movies will also be banned from jails in England and Wales under changes to the Incentives and Earned Privileges (IEP) scheme. The current scheme allows inmates to get privileges - such as a television set in their cell - simply by keeping out of trouble.
