MANILA/ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—About 100 Moro gunmen attacked Lamitan, Basilan Thursday morning, injuring at least two people, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported. Government Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said suspected Abu Sayyaf extremists clashed with government troops at around 8:30 a.m. The encounter happened near the police headquarters in Lamitan, he said.
