Barangay elections continue for 94 areas Oct 29th 2013, 02:54 MANILA, Philippines — Commission on Elections chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. on Tuesday said barangay elections continued in a number of villages in the country amid initial delays the day before. Elections in at least 94 villages were halted on Monday because ballots did not reach the precincts on time or teachers didn't show up because of security reasons like in Lanao del Sur. "Elections in a number of villages did not function…In Lanao del Sur, many did not push through but we are continuing it today. These are not special elections," Brillantes told Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
