Abu Sayyaf frees 2 Filipino cameramen—PNP

MANILA, Philippines—Two Filipino cameramen who were kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf bandits in June last year are now in police custody, radio reports said Sunday.   Rolando Letrero and Ramelito Vela, both Manila-based cameramen, are reportedly sick and being kept in an undisclosed and heavily guarded hotel in Sulu.   Quoting Renato Gumban, head of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Task Force, the reports said Letrero and Vela will soon be transferred to Zamboanga City for appropriate medical treatment.   Vela and Letrero were hired by Jordanian TV reporter Baker Atyani last year for a series of coverage in Mindanao.
