Webster University freshman Wesley So officially enters the 2700 club Mar 1st 2013, 05:05 19 year old Wesley So, a freshman at Webster University (the #1 ranked collegiate chess team in the United States), has officially become the newest member of the 2700 club. His latest rating of 2701 puts him at #50 in the world as well as #2 junior. Wesley is the first Filipino and American collegiate player in history to accomplish this feat. Webster University currently has 8 grandmasters (Wesley So, Georg Meier, Ray Robson, Fidel Corrales Jimenez, Manuel Leon Hoyos, Anatoly Bykhovsky, Denes Boros, and Andre Diamant). The team will have 2 additional grandmasters next year (one over 2700 and one over 2600).
