Pagasa monitoring LPA near Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area near Mindanao is being monitored Monday by the state weather bureau.   The LPA was last seen 1,120 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.   Although there are a few LPAs formed at this time of the year, weather forecaster Jori Loiz told INQUIRER.net that the chances are not "unusual."   Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon continued to prevail over Luzon.   "The regions of CARAGA, Davao and Soccsksargen will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and ...
