SYDNEY— A series of strong earthquakes struck off the Solomon Islands in rapid succession on Sunday, seismologists said, but no damage was reported and no tsunami warnings were issued. The strongest of the three tremors, at 5:58 am (1858 GMT Saturday) had a magnitude of 6.1, with the other two each measuring 5.1, according to the US Geological Survey. The quakes occurred within 30 minutes of one another at depths of 10 kilometres to 36 kilometres, some 600 kilometres (370 miles) from the Solomon Islands capital Honiara.
