Croatia and Slovakia lead in Mitropa Cup 2013 Jun 7th 2013, 03:49 The 2013 edition of Mitropa Cup is taking place on 1st – 9th June in Meissen, Dr.-Eberle-Platz 1 in the fourth floor. It is a team event played in two categories: Open and Women. The event is played according to FIDE Laws of Chess and the Team Round Robin system of play, with 9 rounds for both competitions. In the open section, each federation is represented by a team of four players and one reserve; in the women's section, each team presents two players and one reserve plus one team captain. Nine out of ten teams have presented line-ups in both categories: Croatia, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Slovenia. France is participating only in the open section, while Poland is doing so only in the women's category.
