MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Franklin Drilon on Monday suspended work in the Senate due to tropical storm "Maring." Drilon made the announcement shortly after Malacanang suspended work in all government offices in Metro Manila due to intermittent rains. "To all Senate employees: Work today is suspended due to bad weather. I hope everyone will stay indoors and be safe," the Senate President said over Twitter. Work had also been suspended in the House of Representatives because of Quezon City Day, House public relations and information bureau executive director Bernadette dela Cuesta said.
