Mainstream movies rule FAP's Luna Awards

MANILA, Philippines — Big-budget, mainstream movies won most of the trophies at the 31st Luna Awards, handed out by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), in a ceremony held on Saturday at the Quezon City Sports Club.   Mark Meily's historical epic "El Presidente," produced by Viva, CMB Films and Scenema Concepts, won best film.   Olivia M. Lamasan won best director for the adult drama "The Mistress," produced by Star Cinema.   Angel Locsin won best actress for another Star Cinema drama, Ruel S. Bayani's "One More Try."
