SAN FRANCISCO – A pilot of the Asiana Airlines jet that crashed, killing two people at San Francisco airport, asked to abort the landing just 1.5 seconds before the plane smashed into the ground, US investigators said Sunday. The flight data recorder also showed that the aircraft was traveling significantly slower than it should have been and the flight crew was warned that its engines were likely to stall.
