American confesses to murder as he is executed Oct 16th 2013, 05:05 WASHINGTON – An American man confessed to a murder he had long denied as he was put to death Tuesday night in Florida by lethal injection.   William Happ, 51, had spent 24 years on death row in connection with the death of a young woman named Angela Crowley in 1986.   The state corrections system used a new lethal chemical for the first time, and the execution reportedly did not go smoothly.   Florida news reports said Happ took more than 15 minutes to die, as his body repeatedly made convulsive movements.   He was pronounced dead at 6:16 pm (2016 GMT, said Misty Cash, a spokeswoman for the state prison system.   Happ, who had drug...
