Gov't urged to look into killing of Filipino worker in Iran

DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo Angara urged the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to investigate the death of an overseas Filipino worker on Kish Island in Iran last month.   The Filipino, Johanna Lamo, was  killed and her body dumped on the seashore.   Paul Cabrera, the victim's fiancé,  had asked Angara to help in transporting her remains from Manila to Tagum City in Davao del Norte where she will be interred.   Angara, in a statement sent to the Inquirer, said Cabrera claimed no police report was filed with the Iranian authorities despite the allegations of foul play....
