MANILA, Philippines – Fire left some 100 families homeless in Samal Island Thursday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday. The 4:30 p.m. fire happened at Sitio (sub-village) Libudan, Barangay (village) Pichon, Babak District, Igacos, the NDRRMC said. The affected families are housed temporarily at the Angel Villarica Elementary School, it said. The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided assistance to the fire victims. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the NDRRMC said....
