MANILA, Philippines—The country's rice stock swelled to 1.77 million metric tons as of Oct. 1, which was 15.8 percent more than the volume recorded a month earlier as harvest volumes piled up. On the other hand, total rice supply was 11.4 percent smaller compared to the same date in 2012. According to the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, the inventory was good for 52 days' consumption.
